Suspenders

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Suspenders by an unknown artist. The suspenders have a light beige strap with a repeating pattern of colorful images. The strap is bordered on both sides by two rows of small, interlocking dark dots. The colorful images appear to depict everyday scenes. From left to right, the images show a pink flower, a blue and green scene, a white building with a red roof, another scene with a blue roof and people, a white building with a blue dome, a pink and white building, a green and white scene with a person, a brown building with a red roof, and finally a red and white scene. The strap is approximately five times longer than it is wide. On the left end is a tab with several short, parallel, beige straps and a small metal loop. The background of the image is light gray.
