The sculpture depicts a seated woman holding a small child on her lap. The child leans in closely to the woman, and she is looking downward at the child. The woman has long hair tied into a bun at the back of her head, and she wears a long, flowing cloak over a long-sleeved dress. The child has short hair and is wrapped in a cloth. The sculpture is made from a light brown stone and sits on an octagonal wooden base with a worn golden finish.
