Vase

Chinese Qing Dynasty

National Gallery of Art

The sculpture is a cream-colored vase with a long, slender neck that gradually flares out towards the mouth and a bulbous body that rests on a narrow base. At first glance it appears smooth, but closer inspection reveals extremely subtle swirling patterns visible on the surface.
