Stoneware Jug

Annie B. Johnston

National Gallery of Art

There is a large, round pottery jug with a narrow neck and a small opening at the top. The jug is predominantly beige with some grayish undertones. Positioned prominently in the center of the composition, the jug has a repaired section near its neck with a visible blue mark that drips down its side. In the upper right corner, there is a label reading "S.T. Brewer New London 1," and the artist's signature, "Annie B. Johnston," is visible in the lower right corner of the image.
