Silver Punch Strainer

Aaron Fastovsky

National Gallery of Art

This is a drawing of a perforated kitchen utensil. The image shows a detailed representation of a round strainer or sieve with many small holes arranged in a radiating pattern. The utensil has a handle at the top that splits into two sections and forms a rounded grip. Below the main body of the utensil, there is an additional depiction of a handle part. The drawing includes precise shading and line work, giving a realistic three-dimensional impression of the object. The paper is signed at the lower right.
