The sculpture features two figures, a larger horse and a smaller foal beside it, both crafted out of wood, displayed in silhouette form. The color of the sculpture is a warm reddish-brown, with texture visible on the horse's mane and tail, suggesting a woodgrain pattern. The larger horse stands on a flat wooden base with its body in profile to the viewer, head lowered slightly and tail raised in a gentle curve. The smaller foal stands beside the larger horse, also on the same base, mimicking the shape and posture of the larger horse in a miniature version.
