This is a drawing of a figure identified as Hermes surrounded by various theological representations and figures. The central image portrays a figure with wings, holding a caduceus in one hand, and a rod in the other. This figure is encased within a decorative oval frame flanked by two open books labeled as the New Testament and the Old Testament. Above this, a Hebrew name, YHWH, is inscribed. The lower half of the image is segmented into four thematic quadrants, each depicted with a different character. The entire piece is titled "HERMES THEOLOGUS or New Descants upon OLD RECORDS." The bottom of the drawing seems to feature an inscription or signature.
