Seated Figure of Venetia [reverse]

Follower of Vettor Gambello, called Camelio

National Gallery of Art

The sculpture is a bas-relief medallion depicting a seated figure holding scales in the left hand. The figure is adorned with a helmet and draped in a robe, holding a cornucopia in the right hand. A lion is placed at the figure's feet. The medallion is primarily brown with textured areas suggesting a metallic material, possibly bronze. The letters "VENET" are inscribed along the bottom. The sculpture is round with a small hole near the top.
