Benedetto Varchi, 1502-1565, Florentine Historian and Man of Letters [obverse]
There is a round, bronze medallion featuring the profile of a man with a beard facing right. The man has curly hair and is dressed in a draped garment. The medallion looks slightly weathered with inscriptions in a circular formation around the profile. The edge of the medallion has a dotted pattern. It seems to be made of bronze and is flat and two-dimensional.
