Venetian 16th Century

National Gallery of Art

The sculpture is a circular medal featuring a profile portrait of a man with a beard and curly hair, facing left. The man is adorned in attire with a detailed collar. The material of the sculpture appears to be a bronze-like metal with a dark brown and slightly green patina. The medal is detailed and realistic, with inscriptions in relief surrounding the profile: "IOANNES DE NORES COMES TRIPOLIS". There is a small circular hole near the top of the medal.
