This painting shows a sliced watermelon on a white plate. The watermelon has red-pink flesh dotted with black seeds and smaller white seeds and surrounded by a dark green rind. Half of the watermelon is intact on the right, while the other half has been cut up in sections of different sizes on the left. The surface under the plate is gray with black shadows, and the background is gray.
