A young boy is depicted in a three-quarter view, with his full length shown from head to toe. He stands facing to the right, with his head turned slightly. The boy has short hair and wears a wide-brimmed hat, partially obscuring his facial features. His clothing consists of a loosely fitted, long-sleeved shirt and pants in shades of blue with sketchy lines. He carries a large jug or pot by its handle in one hand, held beside his leg. The background is loosely sketched with patches of green and yellow. On the left side of the image, there are rough sketches of bovines and parts of a landscape, including simple outlines and incomplete shapes. The background on the left is plain and uncolored.
