The painting depicts a rural landscape from a distance, showing a hill, houses, and trees. At the bottom of the painting is a body of water with two green banks on either side. The water reflects the green surroundings. On the right, a grassy path with rocks cuts across the landscape. Behind the water is a hill in the distance, with several small buildings on its top. At the base of the hill are several small figures on a grassy field, perhaps a mixture of humans and animals. The colors are predominately shades of green and brown, with some hints of rusty orange. The sky takes up the top half of the image and is a light blue color. Light brushstrokes are visible in the sky.
