Nude Girl Combing Her Hair

Albert Besnard

National Gallery of Art

This print shows a depiction of a woman's upper body from her head down to just above her knees. She is standing with both arms raised and bent at the elbows and her hands placed on her head, seemingly adjusting her long, dark hair, which flows down past her shoulders. She has pale skin, and her facial features are drawn in with simple lines. She is nude, although her hair covers much of her chest and torso. The background is filled with a textured, cross-hatched pattern. The background of the print is beige paper.
