The circular medallion sculpture features three figures in relief. A standing female figure is at the center, extending her right arm over two male figures to her left. The first male figure is lightly kneeling with his left arm raised, while the second male figure stands more upright, wearing a tunic and holding an object. The female figure holds a shield in her left hand and stands on a pedestal. The sculpture is inscribed with the words "AMERICAN ART-UNION" around the edge, and the year "1849" is displayed at the bottom. The material is metallic bronze and the fine detailing adds a sense of historical and classical aesthetics.
