Le Haut d'un battant de porte (Birds Nailed to a Barn Door)

Félix Bracquemond

National Gallery of Art

The image shows three birds and a bat mounted on a wooden panel. Two of the birds have their wings spread wide. The color palette is monochrome, primarily sepia tones, giving a vintage feel. The largest bird is on the left with its wings spread, followed by a bat in the center above another bird with its wings partially open, and an owl with wide wings on the right. There is a sign with text at the bottom right corner of the panel and a visible metal hinge on the right side.
