This is a drawing of a caricature scene involving two figures in military attire interacting with a figure representing winter. The drawing depicts two officers standing in an authoritative posture facing an anthropomorphized embodiment of winter. The figure representing winter is cloaked in heavy garments with icicles protruding from it. Large, leafless branches and birds flying overhead are also depicted in the scene. Text at the bottom of the image reads "LE DEPART DE L'HIVER."
