Adiantum pedatum

Karl Blossfeldt

National Gallery of Art

The image displays two large spiraling plant stems with curled ends, positioned horizontally in the frame. The color palette is monochromatic, consisting mainly of grayscale tones. In the top image, the three stems extend from the left and curl towards the center, each showing a tightly coiled end resembling a fiddlehead. In the bottom image, two stems crisscross, starting from opposite corners and curving towards the center, each also ending in a tight spiral.
