Cleveland Museum of Art

The Winged Pectoral Scarab by its artist, is a blue-green, three-part ancient Egyptian artifact. The center piece is shaped like a scarab beetle with a large oval body and a smaller oval head. The head features a protruding face and a crown-like structure on top. Two protrusions extend from the sides of the body, below the head. Two wing-like pieces are on either side of the central piece, each with a rounded tip and three holes along the edges. The entire piece has a textured surface with visible ridges and lines, and patches of brown discoloration throughout. The background transitions from black at the top to gray at the bottom.
