Crossbow Bolt

Cleveland Museum of Art

Metal-tipped crossbow bolt by artist unknown. The bolt has a metal tip that is triangular in shape and appears to be weathered. The tip is attached to a wooden shaft that is cylindrical and brown in color. The shaft has visible signs of wear and tear. Near the rear of the bolt, there are two wooden fins, one on either side, which are teardrop-shaped and appear to be fletched. The background of the image is a solid gray color. The bolt is positioned horizontally, with the tip pointing to the left. The metal tip and wooden fins are distinct features of the bolt. The overall appearance of the bolt suggests it is an old or historical piece.
