Tetradrachm: Head of Nicomedes II (obverse); Zeus (reverse)

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image shows two sides of an ancient silver coin. The left side features a profile of a man with curly hair, facing right. The man's hair has wavy curls on the back of his head and a few strands on top. He appears to be wearing a tunic or other garment. The right side depicts a standing figure with their arms outstretched. The figure appears to be male, with short hair, and wears a short skirt. The figure holds a wreath in their right hand and a scepter or staff in their left. There are two vertical lines of text on either side of the figure, but the letters are not clear. At the bottom of the coin, there appears to be more text. The coin has a rough edge. Both coins are set against a plain white background.
