Bronze medal with dark patina. The medal has two sides. One side has a raised profile portrait of a man with short curly hair facing right. The man's name "ANTONIO CANOVA" is written in raised letters on either side of the portrait. The other side has a raised border of small dots. Inside the border, there are four lines of raised text that read "AL SECONDO DECIMO NONO". Above the text is a small raised figure of a winged creature. Below the text is a small raised figure of a panther or lion. The medal is displayed on a light gray background with a shadow underneath.
