Medal

Emile André Boisseau

Cleveland Museum of Art

Medal with two bronze plaques. The left plaque is shaped like a tombstone with a semicircular top and rectangular base. The plaque depicts a naked man holding a club and a child with a dog beside them. The man and child are standing in front of a house and a tree. The text at the top reads "HALTE LAIT" and at the bottom reads "LA DEFENSE DU FOYER". The right plaque is shaped similarly, but the top is more ornate. The plaque depicts a woman sitting on the ground with a child; she holds a rifle. The text at the bottom reads "SANCTUS PAX ET BELLUM". The background of both plaques is ornate with leaves.
