Bobbin Lace Edging of Points

Cleveland Museum of Art

Off-white bobbin lace edging with a straight top edge and a wavy bottom edge featuring points. The top edge has a thin strip of off-white fabric, approximately 1/8 inch wide, with a frayed bottom edge. Below this strip is a row of small loops. The main body of the lace is composed of intricate, interconnected floral patterns and geometric shapes. The lace features a repeating design of rounded, symmetrical sections with a floral motif in the center. Each section has a teardrop-shaped point hanging down, with a central stem and curved sides. The lace is made up of numerous small holes and gaps, giving it a delicate, airy appearance. The background is solid black. The artist is unknown but the title is "Bobbin Lace Edging of Points".
