Libation Cup

The Libation Cup by artist Liu Kaiqu is a bowl made of semi-transparent white and brown stone. The bowl is shallow with a wide mouth and short base. Two handles are on either side of the bowl, carved into the shape of mythical creatures with large eyes and curled tails. The handles are attached to the bowl and extend upwards, curving outwards and then back inwards towards the bowl. The body of the bowl features streaks of brown throughout. The background of the image is dark at the top and light at the bottom, with a shadow cast by the bowl.
