Bobbin Lace Edging of Points

Cleveland Museum of Art

White bobbin lace edging with a repeating pattern of points. The edging is long and narrow, horizontal across the image. It has a solid top edge with small loops along it. Below the top edge, there are diamond shapes formed by interconnected loops. Hanging down from the diamonds are pointed shapes resembling a stem with leaves, each point consisting of a central stem with three lower extensions. The lace is made of white thread, possibly cotton or linen. The background is solid black. The artist is unknown, but the title is "Bobbin Lace Edging of Points".
