

Sarcophagus
Marble sarcophagus with scenes from the life and myth of Achilles. The long side of a rectangular marble coffin is carved in high relief with eleven figures, some of which are nude or semi-nude and some of which wear togas or other drapery. A man on the left center holds a sword and another man next to him on the right is falling down or kneeling. A man on the right center holds a spear and there are three people on the right end. Two heads are carved on the top right side. The background includes folds of fabric.
