The Ceremonial Axe (gano) by the artist has a dark brown wooden handle with a metal ferrule at the bottom. The handle is wrapped with cord or rope in two places. A curved metal blade protrudes from the top of the handle. The blade is semi-circular and appears to be made of dark gray metal. A metal piece with a horizontal handle is positioned above the blade. The background is black at the top and fades to light gray at the bottom. A shadow is cast to the right of the axe.
