The Fragment of a Female Figure with Child depicts two figures carved from stone in a light beige color. The larger figure, presumably a woman, sits with her body facing right and her head turned to the right. Her hair appears wavy and is pushed back from her face. She wears a long dress with folds carved in the stone. The woman's right arm is bent at the elbow and rests across her body. Her left arm is bent and rests on her lap or near her side. A small figure, presumably a child, sits to her right. The child faces left towards the woman and their head is not fully formed. The child's left arm is bent at the elbow. The figures are carved on a piece of stone that has broken away from a larger piece, with rough edges and a flat base. The background of the image is gray.
