Crenelated Fortress (verso)

Agostino Carracci

Cleveland Museum of Art

Beige-colored paper with darker beige and brown stains and smudges throughout. A brown ink drawing of a fortress occupies the bottom-left side. The fortress has a semi-circular wall made of bricks with a crenelated top. Two cylindrical towers protrude from the wall; the one on the left is taller. A small gate is visible on the wall. The top of the paper shows remnants of tape on both sides. A rectangular smudge and circular stamp are present in the bottom-right corner and a circular drawing in the top-left. A thin black mark is on the right side.
