Pair of Urns with Putti

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image shows a large, dark-colored urn with two putti on top. The urn is made of dark-colored metal, possibly bronze or copper, and has a wide body with a narrow base. The body of the urn features a decorative pattern of interlocking diamonds and beads around the top edge. A circular design is on the front, but the details are not clear. The base of the urn is square and has a decorative edge. Two handles are on either side of the urn, each featuring a winged cherub, or putti, sitting on top. The putti are naked and have their hands up to their faces. The urn sits on a wooden surface, possibly a table or shelf, and there are other objects in the background, including what appears to be a framed picture and a decorative vase. The shelf has white metal framing. The overall appearance of the urn suggests that it is an antique or vintage piece, possibly from the 18th or 19th century. The urn is titled "Pair of Urns with Putti".
