Urn with Putti

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image shows a large, dark-colored urn with two cherub statues on either side. The urn is made of dark-colored metal, possibly bronze or copper, and has a wide mouth and a narrow base. The body of the urn is decorated with a pattern of interlocking diamonds and a beaded border at the top and bottom. A circular relief is visible on the front of the urn. The urn has a square base with a decorative edge. Two cherub statues, one on each side of the urn, are leaning on the rim with their elbows, their heads bowed. The cherubs are nude and have wings. The urn sits on a wooden surface, possibly a table or shelf, and there are other objects visible in the background. The background includes a white wall and a white shelf frame. Other objects are partially visible behind and to the side of the urn.
