Lievin Cruyl

Cleveland Museum of Art

Two-page spread from a book or manuscript, left page with detailed drawing, right page blank with faint pencil marks. The left page shows a landscape drawing in sepia tones of a city square with a tall obelisk in center, several buildings along the right and back sides, a road with people and horse-drawn carriages, and a low wall with short posts along the bottom. The drawing is captioned in cursive script at the top. There is also handwritten text at the bottom left. The right page is off-white with very faint pencil drawings of architectural features. The paper is aged with darker spots and discoloration around edges.
