Comb Panel with a Seated Devi
Comb panel with a seated Devi, made of light-colored material, possibly ivory or bone. The panel is rectangular with rounded corners. The Devi sits cross-legged in the center. She wears a tall, pointed crown and jewelry. Her right leg is bent in front of her left leg. Her right hand is raised near her face, and her left hand rests on her knee. Two birds flank the Devi, one on each side, standing on their legs with their heads turned toward her. The birds have detailed feathers and beaks. The panel's border features a row of flowers at the bottom and intricate scrollwork throughout. The background of the image is gray. The panel casts a shadow on the surface below it, on the right side.
