The Miracle of Shravasti
Rectangular terracotta relief with rough, uneven edges. The relief features two rows of carved figures. The top row contains 3 figures. The central figure, possibly Buddha, sits cross-legged on a throne-like structure; the 2 on either side are standing. Each of the 3 figures has their hands in a prayer-like gesture. On either end of the row are small, multi-tiered structures. The bottom row contains 3 figures. The central figure, possibly Buddha, sits on a low platform; the 2 on either side are standing. The central figure has hands resting on knees; the 2 on either side have one arm down by their side and one raised. The relief shows signs of aging and wear. The background is dark gray to black, with a lighter gray surface. Title: "The Miracle of Shravasti" by an unknown artist.
