The New-born Buddha
The New-born Buddha by an unknown artist depicts a gold statue of a standing human figure with a smooth face and closed eyes. The figure has a black bun on top of their head and a black dot on their forehead. Their arms hang straight down at their sides with palms facing forward. The figure wears a short loincloth secured by a sash around their waist. A decorative element wraps around each wrist and there are decorative flowers on each shoulder. The figure stands on a decorative gold lotus flower base. The gold of the statue is worn and chipped in several places to reveal a darker metal underneath. Two blue gems are visible on the figure's shoulders. The background of the image fades from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
