The background of both sections is covered in black Japanese calligraphy arranged in vertical columns; the text is dense and intricate. The calligraphy and the artworks of the man and the helmet are outlined with thin black lines. The artist's signature and seals are written in black and red ink on the bottom right. The edges of the paper are rough and uneven.
