The main artwork is a black and white painting surrounded by a beige patterned border, with a thin blue and gold border around the painting. The painting depicts a cluster of bamboo and an orchid plant growing out of a rocky outcropping. The rocky outcropping occupies the lower left corner of the painting, with the bamboo and orchid extending up and to the right. There is a column of Japanese characters on the left side of the painting. The bottom section of the scroll is light beige.
