The man wears armor; the top half of the armor is shaped like a square plate with slanted edges; it features an X-shaped groove. The man holds the plate with both hands. The relief is encircled by an inscription in Roman letters. The inscription on the top half reads: "ANNO M D XXV SCULPTILE WOLFGANGVS A ME" The inscription on the bottom half reads: "ETAS MEA XVIIII". The background of the relief shows an etched pattern. The rectangular wooden base is visible around the relief's beveled edge. The background behind the object is gray.
