Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara

Cleveland Museum of Art

The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara statue depicts a figure with three heads and two full bodies. The statue is dark brown. The central head faces forward with a subtle smile. Two additional heads are positioned on either side; they are smaller, facing left and right. The figure wears a robe, adorned with patterned designs on the chest and waist. A belt encircles the waist. The hands are clasped together in front of the chest. The statue displays signs of aging, with visible wear and tear on the surface. It stands against a gradient background transitioning from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
