The artwork, titled "Crucifix with Scenes of the Passion" by artist Giunta Pisano, is a large crucifix with a gold-painted cross. The cross has a wide horizontal and vertical beam and a narrower top and bottom beam. The figure of Jesus Christ on the cross is centered, with his arms outstretched. He has long brown hair and a beard, and is wearing a black loincloth. The center of the cross features 12 small scenes depicting the Passion of Christ. The top beam of the cross has two small scenes, and the shorter horizontal beams each have one small scene on either end. The bottom beam has a red section with white writing. The background behind the cross is gray.
