Design for a Fresco of an Artist's Tomb in the Certosa of Bologna (recto); Architectural Drawing of Columns (verso)
The image shows a drawing divided into two sections. The left section depicts an architectural design for a tomb with a large archway. Inside the archway are two main sections: a rounded top and a rounded bottom. The top section has a sculpture of a woman with her arm raised. The woman wears a long dress and appears to be surrounded by children and angels. Below the sculpture is a blank rectangular area. To the left of the rectangular area is an angel playing a trumpet. To the right of the rectangular area is a dove. The bottom section contains a brown sarcophagus on a black marble base. To the right of the sarcophagus is a statue of a man holding a cross. The right section shows a sketch of two columns. The columns are drawn with a ruler and have a simple base and capital. There are some notes and measurements written on this section. The background of the left section is a stone wall. The background of the right section is a plain paper surface.
