The Entombment by Giovanni de' Vecchi. A sketch on tan paper depicts a somber scene. A thick black border surrounds the sketch, inside of which is a thinner green border. A group of figures surrounds a central figure lying on the ground. The central figure wears a loincloth and has dark hair. Their body is positioned with their back to the viewer, their right arm bent at the elbow and their left arm extended. Their head is turned to the right. A figure on the right reaches down towards the central figure with their left arm. This figure wears a hooded shawl or cloak. A figure on the left appears to have their hands on their head. This figure wears a long dress. The other figures are drawn lightly and appear to be studies for the composition. The paper is stained and has rough edges. A number is written at the top of the paper in black ink.
