Devi Shrine

Cleveland Museum of Art

Devi Shrine by an unknown artist. A colorful painting on worn paper depicts a white stone shrine with a tiered roof and a golden finial at the top. The shrine has a green lawn in front and a red brick wall around it. The wall has trees behind it and a blue sky with white clouds. In the center of the shrine is a woman sitting on a green throne-like object, wearing an orange sari and a pink shawl. She has a pink and gold halo around her. There are two small alcoves on either side of her with small figures. A tiger is to the left of the shrine. The painting has a border with small red dots on a beige background.
