Candlestick

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Candlestick by unknown artist shows two tall, slender candlesticks with shiny metallic surfaces. The candlesticks have a base that resembles a flower or a scalloped edge with multiple rounded protrusions. Above the base, a long, thin stem with three distinct bulbous sections rises, each separated by a groove. The top section narrows and flares out slightly at the top to form a small dish-like area for holding a candle. The candlesticks appear to be made of silver or another reflective metal. The background is a plain light gray color.
