Candlestick

Rufus Dunham

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Two candlesticks, titled "Candlestick" by Rufus Dunham. The candlesticks are made of dark metal with a weathered appearance. They are identical and positioned side by side on a flat surface. Each candlestick has a wide, circular base that tapers into a narrow, ornamental stem featuring stacked, rounded sections of decreasing size. The stem's top section is short and cylindrical, with a flat surface, designed to hold a candle. The background is a plain, light-colored wall with the candlesticks casting slight shadows to their right. The surface on which the candlesticks rest appears to be a table or shelf with a slightly darker tone than the wall. Some white marks are visible on the surface in front of the candlesticks.
