Covered Bowl

Tiffany & Co.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Clear glass bowl with rounded body and scalloped rim on a black wooden base. The bowl has a textured design on the bottom half with repeating fan patterns. A black metal mount supports the bowl on either side where handles would typically be. The rim of the bowl has a wavy design. The mount extends upwards and outwards to form handles on both sides; from the center of these handles protrude clear glass balls on short stems shaped like two leaves. The mount extends up through the center with a spiral design topped with three clear glass balls. The base of the stand supporting the bowl has four feet shaped like shells or flowers.
