Jacob Hurd

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Silver cup with two handles and a cover. The cup has a wide, round base that tapers outward slightly. A thin band encircles the cup, about one-third of the way up from the base. Above the band, the cup body is cylindrical with a slight outward curve. A circular engraving on the front features an intertwined monogram. The two handles are symmetrical, each with a leaf-like design where they meet the cup. The lid is domed with a small, rounded finial on top. The background is gray. The artist is Jacob Hurd.
