Covered Jar

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Covered Jar, created by artist Ruth Duckworth, is a grayscale image of a ceramic vessel. The jar has a rounded body with a slightly wider base than top. A diamond pattern is etched into the surface. The lid is also rounded and features the same diamond pattern. A small knob-like handle is on top of the lid. The background is a plain gray color, with the jar sitting on a flat surface, casting a shadow to the left.
