Drop-leaf Table

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Dark brown wood drop-leaf table by unknown artist. The table has a round top split into two semicircular sections. The tabletop surface is made of two boards with a thin light-brown line visible in between. A thin drawer is on one side. Four legs are turned, featuring ornate spindle-like detailing. Two stretchers connect the front and back legs. The two center legs are double thickness, supporting a flat triangular section that extends to the table top on either side. The table legs are tapered and end in small feet. The background is white.
